58 Inmates in Kano Take 2025 NECO Exams as State Covers Registration

58 inmates in Kano are sitting for the 2025 NECO SSCE after the state government paid their exam fees, supporting their education and rehabilitation.

Fifty-eight inmates in Kano State are currently participating in the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination organized by the National Examination Council. This development was confirmed on Sunday by the Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Correctional Service in Kano, Musbahu Kofar-Nasarawa.

According to the statement, the Kano State Government paid all registration fees on behalf of the inmates. The command described this as a major step toward giving incarcerated individuals a meaningful opportunity to continue their education and prepare for life beyond prison.

The correctional service commended Governor Abba Yusuf for his role in making the initiative possible. It noted that the financial support not only lifts the morale of inmates but also shows a genuine effort to improve their chances at rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

The service reiterated its commitment to creating an environment that supports learning and personal growth, emphasizing that such efforts play a vital role in helping inmates change their lives. The statement concluded by acknowledging the importance of continued collaboration with the state government to ensure that rehabilitation goals are met.
