The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has resumed disbursing upkeep allowances to students after resolving issues tied to digital banking platforms. According to a statement released in Abuja by the Fund’s Director of Strategic Communications, Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, the payments were made to more than 3,600 students who had switched from digital wallets to commercial bank accounts via the NELFUND portal.
This move comes after weeks of delays that left many students without their approved support. Oluwatuyi described the resumed disbursements as a major breakthrough and thanked affected students for their patience and cooperation throughout the process.
Students who have yet to update their banking details were urged to submit a support ticket through the official NELFUND portal. They can also report through their institutions’ IT departments, which will coordinate communication with NELFUND for prompt action.
The Fund emphasized its commitment to ensuring every eligible student receives their allowance and encouraged students to use only official communication channels. NELFUND can be contacted via email at info@nelf.gov.ng and through its verified social media accounts on X (@nelfund), Instagram (@nelfund), Facebook, and LinkedIn under Nigerian Education Loan Fund – NELFUND.
