New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge, one of Major League Baseball’s biggest stars, says faith in Jesus Christ—not fame or success—brings true fulfillment. Speaking to reporters ahead of the MLB All-Star Game, Judge, 33, reflected on what he would tell someone chasing fame or fortune to solve their problems. “Our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ,” the Judge said. “He’s given me this platform, this ability. The fame, getting the chance to do this is great and all, but it’s not fulfilling as much as the relationship I have with Him.” He added, “Build a relationship with Him, and that’ll solve all your problems.”
The judge has spoken about his Christian faith throughout his career. On Monday, he showed that commitment again with a special All-Star Game bat. The bat was painted blue and included his daughter Nora’s name, along with a verse from the Bible: 2 Corinthians 5:7 — “For we live by faith, not by sight.”
While staying grounded in faith, Judge is also delivering big numbers on the field. He currently leads Major League Baseball with a .355 batting average, ranks second in home runs with 35, and has driven in 81 runs. His performance in right field has also earned praise. The seven-time All-Star is chasing a third MVP award in as many seasons. He won in 2022 after smashing 62 home runs, setting a new American League record, and won again in 2023 by leading the league in both home runs (58) and RBI (144).
Although the Yankees have slipped from the top of the AL East, they still hold a wildcard spot. As the playoff race heats up, Judge’s leadership and consistent play remain central to the team’s hopes.
