The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has extended warm Easter greetings to Christians both in Nigeria and globally. In a statement issued by Prof. Tukur Muhammad-Baba, the National Publicity Secretary, the forum expressed its joy in solidarity with Christian brethren as they mark the 2025 Easter season. The ACF also called for prayers for Nigeria’s return to peace, security, and economic stability.
Acknowledging the ongoing challenges, the forum highlighted the severe issues facing Nigeria, especially during the Easter celebration. These include economic struggles, political instability, and, most concerning, the escalating security threats and criminal activities across the country. Communities in states like Benue, Borno, Katsina, Kaduna, and others continue to experience the devastating impact of violence, leading to countless deaths, displacements, and divisions.
The ACF condemned the pervasive corruption, political insensitivity, and selfishness among leaders, which contribute to the country’s current dire state. Despite the challenges, the forum remains hopeful and encourages the Christian community to continue praying for the nation’s recovery. It called for divine intervention to restore peace and guide Nigeria’s leaders with the wisdom and compassion necessary for a brighter future.
The statement also emphasized the need for stronger action from Nigeria’s security agencies to eliminate terrorism, criminality, and the insecurity affecting northern regions and beyond. The ACF remains optimistic that Nigeria can overcome its current struggles and emerge stronger, more resilient, and united in the spirit of peace, harmony, and prosperity.
