Afenifere, a prominent Pan-Yoruba socio-political group, has strongly dismissed the notion that President Bola Tinubu is running a Yoruba government, declaring that his administration represents the whole of Nigeria. The group’s Organizing Secretary, Abagun Kole Omololu, issued a statement condemning a conspiracy outlined by Dr. Sandra Duru, which accused Tinubu’s government of being biased towards the Yoruba tribe.
Afenifere responded by emphasizing that President Tinubu’s leadership is a reflection of democratic choice, not tribal entitlement. The group criticized those who attempted to sabotage the government, labeling the accusation as dishonest and divisive. They pointed out that when President Muhammadu Buhari, a Fulani leader, served two terms, no one attempted to discredit his administration based on ethnicity. Afenifere called for fairness, urging that Tinubu should be allowed to serve his full eight-year mandate as decided by the people and under the Constitution.
The statement praised Dr. Sandra Duru for her bravery in exposing the plot, reinforcing the message that Nigeria’s unity and constitutional integrity should not be compromised by tribal manipulation. Afenifere concluded by rallying all patriots to defend justice, truth, and national unity against any forces seeking to destabilize the country.
