A man suspected of breaking into a home and trying to assault its female occupants was caught by angry residents of Aratunsi Street in the Oke Aro area of Akure. The incident happened around 4:30 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2025. According to witnesses, the man entered a house where several young women lived, allegedly intending to steal and attack them. The women raised an alarm, prompting neighbours and local youths to rush to the scene. He was immediately apprehended and tied to an electricity pole with a rope while the community waited for the police to arrive. The suspect, believed to be from Ekiti State, has not yet been officially identified. As of the time this report was filed, security agencies had not released an official statement.
