CAN Pays Tribute to Plateau Chairman Father Lubo After Sudden Death

CAN mourns Rev. Fr. Polycarp Lubo, Plateau chairman, who died after a road accident. He was praised for promoting peace, justice, and interfaith unity.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Rev. Fr. Polycarp Lubo, its Plateau State Chairman. He passed away on Sunday after a brief illness that followed a road accident.

CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, described Fr. Lubo as a man of peace and integrity who gave his life to building unity across religious and ethnic lines. According to him, Fr. Lubo inspired many through his service, dedication to interfaith cooperation, and firm stand for justice.

Fr. Lubo also played a key role in public health campaigns, supporting national efforts such as immunization and the fight against polio. CAN said his compassion and leadership left a lasting mark on communities across the state.

The association sent condolences to Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, the state government, the Catholic Church, the local CAN chapter, and Fr. Lubo’s family. It also encouraged Nigerians to continue his legacy by standing for peace, justice, and national unity.

Archbishop Okoh added that Fr. Lubo’s death is a loss to the Christian body and the entire country. He described him as a trusted colleague and close friend, whose absence will be deeply felt.

CAN concluded with prayers for strength for all those mourning and the peaceful rest of Fr. Lubo’s soul.
