Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones surprised fans and teammates during a lighthearted moment at training camp this week by revealing a deeply personal wish. As part of a regular team tradition, players were asked to share one unfulfilled item on their bucket list. While several teammates mentioned travel or thrill-seeking adventures, Jones offered a more emotional response.
“I just wanna be married, I just wanna be loved,” he said, pausing the otherwise upbeat tone of the segment.
His comment followed months of public scrutiny after his ex-girlfriend, Sheawna Weathersby, accused him of infidelity. Their relationship, which lasted nine years, reportedly ended between late 2024 and early 2025. In a March post on her Instagram Stories, Weathersby claimed Jones had been unfaithful with another woman, which ultimately led to their separation.
She also alleged ongoing harassment by the woman in question, stating that the behavior included repeated calls and messages sent through anonymous platforms. The situation forced her to change her phone number and prompted Jones to request the woman stop interfering with their lives. While Jones confirmed he was single earlier this year, he has not directly responded to the cheating accusations. The former couple shares two children.
Jones, a six-time Pro Bowler and three-time Super Bowl champion, remains a vital part of the Chiefs’ defense. Entering his 10th NFL season, he recorded five sacks in 15 games last year. Despite his on-field success, his heartfelt confession during training camp shows that some goals — like love and emotional connection — matter just as much.
