Delta State Leaders Defect to APC: Omo-Agege Welcomes Oborevwori and Okowa

Senator Ovie Omo-Agege officially welcomes Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to the APC, highlighting the success of President Tinubu's leadership.

Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has expressed his full support and welcomed Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and his predecessor, Ifeanyi Okowa, following their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Omo-Agege, the former Deputy President of the Senate, encouraged APC members in Delta State to embrace the new members and work together for the party’s success in the state.

In a statement shared with journalists, Omo-Agege noted that this significant shift demonstrates the effectiveness of President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” which has brought growth and development to the country. He assured party members in Delta that the APC leadership was already addressing any issues arising from the defection, aiming to ensure a smooth integration process.

He further stated, “The leadership of the Delta State Chapter of the APC extends a warm welcome to His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, along with all the leaders and members of the PDP joining us today. This historical event marks the continued success of President Tinubu’s agenda in promoting national progress.”

Omo-Agege emphasized that the national party leadership, the Progressive Governors Forum, and Delta APC stakeholders are diligently working to resolve any challenges related to the defection. He encouraged party members across the state to rally together for a welcome reception for the defectors scheduled for April 28, 2025, in Asaba.

The statement concluded with a call for unity and a renewed commitment to the progress of Delta State and Nigeria as a whole, highlighting the APC’s dedication to progressive governance and a brighter future for all citizens.
