A 75-year-old pilgrim from Edo State, Mrs. Adizatu Dazumi, has passed away during the 2025 Hajj in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. She was a native of Jattu Uzairue in Etsako West Local Government Area. The incident occurred on Monday, May 26, following a brief illness. According to Malam Musah Uduimoh, Chairman of the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mrs. Dazumi became unwell shortly after completing the religious rite of Tawaaf—circling the Kaaba. She was taken to King Fahad General Hospital in Makkah on Sunday and died the next day. Her burial was carried out under Islamic customs on the same day she passed. The welfare board has notified her family in Jattu Uzairue and extended condolences. Uduimoh assured that the board is closely monitoring the health of all pilgrims to ensure their safety.
