Fast Food Dispute Ends in Tragedy as Employee Shoots Customer Over Missing Mayonnaise

A Florida fast food worker shot a customer during an argument about missing mayonnaise packets. The customer later died from the injuries.

A deadly incident unfolded at a Checkers fast food restaurant in Kissimmee, Florida, when a worker allegedly shot a customer after a dispute about missing mayonnaise packets. The employee, 23-year-old Elijah Travis Mackey, was on duty on the night of May 21 when the conflict began. According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, Mackey got into a verbal argument with Wesley Robertson over his food order.

The situation escalated quickly. Court documents and witness statements reveal Robertson had asked for extra mayonnaise packets at the drive-thru window. A witness reported hearing Robertson make a derogatory comment towards Mackey. Surveillance footage reportedly shows Mackey leaving the drive-thru window and approaching Robertson before drawing a handgun and shooting him in the chest.

Robertson was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center but later died from his wounds. Mackey fled but was found hiding in a nearby stairwell and arrested shortly after. He faces charges of first-degree premeditated murder and is held at Osceola County Jail.

Checkers responded with a statement emphasizing that this incident does not represent the values of their staff and that they are cooperating fully with authorities. They also extended their sympathies to the victim’s family.
