Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to supporting the nation’s youth. While presenting seven brand-new 14-seater hybrid buses to the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), she encouraged young people to stay diligent, honest, and rooted in their faith, describing these values as essential to real progress in life.
The presentation took place at the State House in Abuja, where the First Lady, who also serves as the National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), fulfilled a promise previously made to the group. Speaking at the event, she reminded the youth that love is shown not just in words but in action. She noted that giving is a reflection of genuine love, and called on them to use the buses in service of their faith and for the good of others.
The timing of the donation also marked the second anniversary of the Tinubu administration. The First Lady said that, rather than celebrate privately, it felt more meaningful to give back to young people who are actively serving God in their communities. She emphasized that this gesture from RHI is an expression of belief in their potential to succeed and make a difference.
Receiving the vehicles on behalf of YOWICAN, National Chairman Michael Enwere Belosochukwu expressed heartfelt thanks to Senator Tinubu and the RHI. He said the buses would greatly reduce the logistical difficulties the group faces during outreach efforts and improve the effectiveness of their mission.
The seven buses will be distributed across the six geopolitical zones and the national headquarters of YOWICAN. Also present at the event were the wife of the Vice President and RHI’s National Vice Chairman, Hajia Nana Shettima; the wife of the Imo State Governor and RHI’s National Secretary, Barrister Chioma Uzodimma; and the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission, Bishop S.T.V. Adegbite, among others.
