In a gripping testimony during the ongoing federal trial against rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, his former executive assistant, George Kaplan, shared unsettling details of his time working for Combs. Kaplan, who served in the role from 2013 to 2015, spoke candidly about his involvement in covering up violent incidents and fulfilling questionable requests on behalf of Combs. He recalled when he carried large sums of cash on private jets for the mogul, including a $50,000 cash delivery and another time when he collected $10,000 at a Western Union for Combs Enterprises.
Under questioning from federal prosecutors, Kaplan admitted to being aware of Combs’ long-term relationships with several women, including Cassie, Gina, and Kim Porter, the mother of Combs’ children. Despite his knowledge of the situation, Kaplan explained that his career kept him from intervening during violent episodes, one of which occurred during a private flight to Las Vegas. During the flight, Kaplan heard glass shattering after an altercation between Combs and Cassie. He further testified that Combs later instructed him to buy creams to conceal bruises on Cassie’s face, using a corporate credit card to make the purchase.
Kaplan also recounted an alarming incident at Combs’ mansion on Star Island in Miami, where he witnessed Combs throw green apples at Gina. He left his position at Combs Enterprises in 2015, citing moral concerns and his father’s battle with prostate cancer as reasons for his resignation. Despite the troubling experiences, Kaplan expressed gratitude for the opportunity and respect for Diddy, but ultimately felt compelled to leave the job.
Earlier in the trial, Kaplan detailed his duties while working for Combs, including booking hotel rooms under aliases and preparing them with items like baby oil and candles. He also mentioned being sent out to procure food and drugs for Combs. The high-profile trial continues to unfold, with rapper Kid Cudi, who previously had a relationship with Cassie, expected to testify later in the day.
