FrieslandCampina WAMCO collaborates with Yabatech to nurture young talents, preparing students for success in the workforce.

FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC, the makers of Peak and Three Crowns milk, has reaffirmed its dedication to nurturing young talents through a partnership with Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech). This collaboration, formalized under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), is focused on enhancing the skills of Yabatech students and preparing them for future careers in the workforce.

During a recent visit, the CEO of Royal FrieslandCampina, Mr. Jan Derck van Karnebeek, along with Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Mr. Nils den Besten, and Mr. Wietse Duursma, engaged with both students and management at Yabatech. The session was part of the ongoing partnership aimed at bridging the gap between academia and industry.

Speaking at the event, Mr. van Karnebeek emphasized the significance of collaboration in fostering young talent. He highlighted that the partnership provides a platform for educational and business growth, built on shared values that strengthen both FrieslandCampina WAMCO and Yabatech. “We believe in the power of collaboration to support talent development and equip students for success,” he said.

Mr. Ali Khan, President of the Middle East, Pakistan, and Africa (MEPA) Business Group at Royal FrieslandCampina, expressed his admiration for the students’ enthusiasm, recognizing that their energy aligns with the core values of FrieslandCampina. He added that hearing the success stories of Yabatech students deeply resonated with the company’s vision for talent development.

Mr. Roger Adou, Managing Director of FrieslandCampina WAMCO, also expressed his excitement about the engagement, noting the positive impact Yabatech has had on the country’s education sector. He shared the story of an alumnus of Yabatech who rose to become a key board member at the company, reinforcing FrieslandCampina’s commitment to empowering young people and strengthening societal values.

The Rector of Yabatech, Engr. Ibraheem Adedotun Abdul, PhD, welcomed the collaboration, calling it a testament to FrieslandCampina’s dedication to innovation and youth empowerment. He praised the partnership as a convergence of shared values that would benefit both the institution and the broader community.

Mr. den Besten and Mr. Duursma expressed their enthusiasm for contributing to the development of young talents and strengthening the ties between the institution and the industry. FrieslandCampina WAMCO reiterated its commitment to fostering educational and professional growth, aiming to create a brighter future for both the dairy sector and young professionals across the region.
