Governor Uba Sani Reintroduces Information Ministry and Announces New Cabinet Appointments in Kaduna State

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State reintroduces the Information Ministry and makes key cabinet changes, appointing new commissioners for critical sectors.

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has made significant administrative changes by reinstating the Ministry of Information, a department previously dissolved by his predecessor, Nasir El-Rufai. This move highlights a shift in the governor’s administrative priorities. Along with reestablishing the Information Ministry, Governor Sani has appointed new commissioners to lead important ministries in his cabinet.

Professor Mohammed Sani-Bello, previously the Commissioner for Education, will now head the reinstated Ministry of Information. In his place, Professor Abubakar Sani Sambo, a former Director General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria and a former Special Adviser to the President on Energy, has been appointed as the new Commissioner for Education. Additionally, Gloria Ibrahim has been appointed as the new Commissioner for Youth Development.

These appointments, effective immediately, were confirmed in a statement by Ibraheem Musa, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor. Governor Sani expressed his confidence in the appointees and outlined expectations for their contributions. He specifically tasked Professor Sambo with revitalising the education sector, focusing on improving access, infrastructure, teacher capacity, the integration of ICT, and school security. For Ibrahim, the goal is to create and implement initiatives that empower the youth and address their challenges, furthering the governor’s commitment to youth welfare and development in the state.
