Juror Removed from Diddy’s Trial for Lying to Join Panel

A Black juror was removed from Diddy's sx-trafficking trial after lying to get on the panel, sparking tension over jury diversity concerns.

A male juror has been removed from Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ongoing sex trafficking trial after the court discovered he lied to secure a spot on the panel. Judge Arun Subramanian announced the decision on Monday, stating the move was necessary despite strong objections from the rapper’s legal team.

Diddy’s lawyers expressed concern that dismissing the Black juror would affect the racial balance of the jury. However, the judge firmly responded that racial identity would not determine who stays or goes, emphasizing that alternates are selected to handle such situations. The replacement juror is a 57-year-old white accountant from Westchester County.

Judge Subramanian also criticized the defense for trying to turn the issue into a racial argument, saying the defendant isn’t entitled to a jury selected to match his racial background. Diddy, 55, is facing serious allegations, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transporting individuals for prostitution. Prosecutors claim he used his fame and money to manipulate and abuse singer Cassie Ventura and others over many years.

The rapper has denied all charges and pleaded not guilty. If convicted, he could face life in prison. The prosecution is expected to conclude its presentation in the coming days.
