Kidnapped Man Freed After Late-Night Raid on Kubwa Estate

A man kidnapped during a midnight raid in Kubwa, Abuja, has been released after intense security pressure and a quiet ransom payment by his family.

A man who was abducted during a midnight attack on Grow Homes Estate in the Chikakore area of Kubwa, Abuja, has regained his freedom. The incident occurred early Monday between 12:00 a.m. and 1:30 a.m., when armed kidnappers invaded the estate, holding residents at gunpoint for over an hour.

According to residents, the attackers moved swiftly, and despite a quick response from the police, they managed to escape with a man and a woman. However, the woman fell into a ditch during the confusion. To avoid alerting police officers nearby, the kidnappers abandoned her and continued with only the male hostage.

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command confirmed it had launched a search operation, working closely with the Nigerian Army to track down the suspects. Security pressure remained high throughout the day, forcing the abductors to release the man after receiving an undisclosed ransom from his family.

Residents remain shaken, and security forces are maintaining a presence in the area as investigations continue.
