Kwara Petrol Dealer and Manager Kidnapped, N200m Ransom Demanded

Kidnappers demand N200m ransom for the release of a Kwara petrol dealer and his manager, while security forces work to ensure their safe return.

In a shocking incident that has left a family in distress, suspected kidnappers have demanded a N200 million ransom for the release of Alhaji Abbas, a petrol dealer from Kwara, and his manager, Abubakar Issa. The two were abducted on Friday, May 9, 2025, in the Gbugbu community, located within the Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State. The assailants also stole an undisclosed amount of money and set fire to Abbas’ Toyota Sienna vehicle.

A close family member of the victims disclosed that the kidnappers contacted Alhaji Abbas’s wife, informing her of the ransom demand, further plunging the family into anguish. Despite this harrowing news, there is a sense of optimism as security agencies have been mobilized and are actively working towards ensuring the safe return of the abducted individuals.

The relative shared that the family is understandably devastated by the situation but has been reassured that the authorities are taking every possible measure to resolve the crisis and bring Alhaji Abbas and Abubakar Issa back home safely.
