LG Electronics has launched its new MoodUP refrigerator in Nigeria, aiming to blend advanced technology with personal style and entertainment. The smart fridge comes with colour-changing LED door panels, built-in Bluetooth speakers, and Wi-Fi connectivity, offering users a unique way to personalise their kitchen space.
According to Mr. Dae Hwa Jung, Marketing Manager for Kitchen Solutions at LG Electronics Middle East and Africa, the MoodUP refrigerator allows homeowners to turn their kitchens into lively, expressive spaces. The fridge offers 22 LED colour options on the upper door and 19 on the lower, making it possible to switch moods or match themes using over 174,000 colour combinations.
Jung described the appliance as more than a household item, saying it allows families to set the tone for any occasion through sound and colour. He added that the Nigerian market was chosen for its vibrant culture, creative energy, and love for celebration—qualities the MoodUP refrigerator is designed to reflect.
Mr. Oktae Kim, General Manager for Home Appliances at LG Nigeria, explained that this product goes beyond cooling and storage. He said it combines emotion, function, and innovation in a way that aligns with daily life, making it a perfect fit for Nigerian homes.
During the launch event, LG also introduced the Radio Optimism Programme, a new campaign using radio to spread positive energy. Attendees were invited to create personal playlists based on their happiest memories. The company said this initiative is part of its effort to promote connection and joy, showing how smart technology can do more than make life easier—it can also make it more meaningful.
