Man Faces Court for Allegedly Stealing Over 1,500 Bags of Pure Water in Ekiti

Police arraign 33-year-old man in Ekiti for allegedly stealing 1,570 bags of sachet water worth N549,500 from his employer’s factory.

A 33-year-old man, Fatai Yisa, has been brought before the Chief Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti for allegedly stealing hundreds of bags of sachet water from his workplace. According to the police, Yisa worked as a sales boy in a factory and reportedly took 1,570 bags of pure water between January and June 10, 2025. The water, said to be worth N549,500, allegedly belonged to Oluwa Tobi Opeyemi. Prosecutor Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi stated that the offence falls under Section 302 of the Ekiti State Criminal Law 2021. Yisa pleaded not guilty. His lawyer, Barrister Opeyemi Esan, applied for bail, which Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun granted in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties. The case was adjourned to July 10 for further hearing.
