Massive One-Million March Planned in Abia to Celebrate Peter Obi’s 64th Birthday

Abia Obidient Movement to mark Peter Obi’s 64th birthday with a one-million-man march, charity visits, and public show of support across four major towns.

Supporters of Peter Obi in Abia State have announced plans to organize a one-million-man march on July 19 to celebrate his 64th birthday. The event, coordinated by the state chapter of the Obidient Movement, will take place simultaneously across four major locations: Umuahia, Aba, Ohafia, and Uzuakoli.

According to a statement signed by Dr. Chibuzor Obiesili and Mr. Christian Emmanuel, the march will kick off at 10 a.m. and will include visits to orphanages, hospitals, and prisons to show support and compassion for the less privileged.

Designated meeting points are Okpara Square in Umuahia, Osisioma Flyover in Aba, Practising School in Uzuakoli, and the Central Field by the Presbyterian Church in Elu Ohafia.

Organizers say the birthday march is being held to honour a man seen as a voice for ordinary Nigerians. They described Obi as a selfless leader whose supporters come from different ethnic, religious, and political backgrounds.

Peter Obi, born July 19, 1961, rose to national prominence during the 2023 presidential election under the Labour Party. Although he finished third according to official results, his campaign reshaped the political scene and inspired millions, especially young voters.

A former governor of Anambra State, Obi studied Philosophy at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and later attended top global institutions including Harvard Business School and the International Institute for Management Development in Switzerland.

He recently joined a coalition that has adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 elections. Obi explained that joining the group was a tough decision but necessary to rebuild Nigeria and end what he called political misrule.

He has also expressed a willingness to serve only one term if elected, promising to lay the foundation for a better country. He remains committed to the principle of power rotation between Nigeria’s North and South.

Organizers say the march is not just a birthday celebration but a show of solidarity with a man who continues to fight for good governance and economic transformation. They praised him as a rare patriot who believes in unity and national progress.

Supporters described Obi as a symbol of hope and a guiding light for the younger generation who see him as the face of a New Nigeria.
