Music Promoter Faces $397,106 Fraud Case as Court Delays Hearing to September

Music promoter EezeeTee's $397,106 fraud trial postponed to Sept 26, 2025, in Lagos court. Follow the latest updates on this high-profile case.

On June 20, 2025, Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, postponed a fraud case involving music promoter Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu ThankGod, known as EezeeTee, to September 26, 2025.

ThankGod and his company, Eezee Global Concepts Limited, face charges from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s Lagos Zonal Directorate 2. The charges, filed on May 7, 2025, include seven counts related to alleged foreign exchange violations and money laundering involving $397,106.

Previously, the case was handled by Justice Owoeye before being transferred to Justice Aneke. One charge alleges that in June 2023, ThankGod and his company, not authorized by the Central Bank of Nigeria, conducted an illegal foreign exchange transaction worth $52,895 with Oladotun Olaobaju Mureke, violating the Foreign Exchange Monitoring and Miscellaneous Provisions Act.

During the June 20 hearing, prosecution lawyer Bilkisu Buhari-Bala introduced the first witness, Mohammed Timta. However, defense lawyer Chikaosolu Ojukwu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, requested a delay, stating that both sides were close to a settlement. Ojukwu asked for one final opportunity to resolve the matter, noting that the trial would proceed if no agreement is reached. Justice Aneke granted the request and set the next hearing for September 26, 2025.
