The Nigerian Air Force has destroyed a major terrorist camp near Lake Chad. According to Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, the operation was carried out by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai on Monday after receiving credible intelligence. The terrorists had reportedly been planning coordinated attacks on Marte and Monguno in Borno State.
Air surveillance identified the location at Bukar Meram, a known training site on the southern side of Lake Chad. Airstrikes were launched swiftly, targeting logistics hubs, supply vehicles, weapons storage areas, and temporary shelters. The mission led to the elimination of several fighters and halted the movement of supplies that could have been used in future attacks.
Damage assessments confirmed that the operation was successful, effectively disrupting the planned assaults and reducing the threat to surrounding communities. The Air Force stated it remains committed to protecting lives, securing national territory, and maintaining peace in the Northeast and beyond.
