Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called on the people of Iran to rise up against their country’s leadership, describing it as a brutal and oppressive regime. In a video message released shortly after Israel launched a wave of military strikes, Netanyahu said the campaign was one of the most significant in history, codenamed Operation Rising Lion.
The Israeli military reportedly targeted over 200 locations across Iran, including key military installations and nuclear sites. Several high-ranking commanders and nuclear scientists were confirmed dead following the attacks. Netanyahu claimed the regime had been caught off guard and was now at its weakest point.
He said the operation aimed not just at defending Israel, but also at giving Iranians a chance to reclaim their freedom. “This is your opportunity to stand up and let your voices be heard,” he said. Netanyahu promised that the strikes would continue until Israel’s objectives were met and hinted at more actions to come.
Iranian officials responded by calling the attack a declaration of war and vowed severe retaliation. Iranian forces launched around 100 drones toward Israel, most of which were intercepted. They later fired dozens of missiles, some of which hit Israeli cities, injuring at least seven people according to emergency services.
As tensions continue to rise, both nations appear locked in a dangerous military and political standoff, with no signs of immediate de-escalation.
