Nigeria Partners with Emirates to Boost Tourism

Nigeria partners with Emirates to boost tourism via a dynamic MoU. Together, they’ll promote Nigeria’s culture, heritage, and unmatched hospitality globally.

Nigeria’s Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Emirates to attract more international visitors. This agreement was finalized at the 2025 Arabian Travel Market. Key signatories included Adil Al Ghaith, Emirates’ Senior Vice President for Commercial Operations, Centre, and Mr. Abiola Abdulkareem, Special Assistant to the Minister on Sub-National Development and Tourism. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, along with other senior officials.

Adnan Kazim, representing Emirates, highlighted the airline’s efforts since resuming operations to Lagos in October 2024. He stated that partnerships like this reflect Emirates’ commitment to promoting Nigeria’s unique attractions, ranging from its history and bustling cities to its natural beauty and hospitality.

Minister Hannatu Musawa described this collaboration as a game-changer for Nigeria’s tourism sector. She emphasized its role as a launchpad for the Destination 2030 Soft Power Initiative, aimed at establishing Nigeria as a global cultural and creative hub. Strengthening ties with international partners like Emirates is expected to stimulate local economies, create community growth, and elevate Nigeria’s cultural identity on the world stage.

Under the agreement, Emirates will actively promote Nigerian tourism across its global network. Plans include designing programs for trade partners, tour operators, and hoteliers, alongside incentive packages, familiarization trips, and other marketing campaigns. This partnership is set to position Nigeria as a sought-after destination within Africa.
