The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called on the federal government to increase the retirement age for all civil servants to 65 years or after 40 years of service. This request aims to match the provisions already granted to select sectors, including teachers, health workers, and judges. The NLC President, Joe Ajaero, made this appeal during the May Day celebration held at Eagle Square in Abuja on Thursday. In his speech, Ajaero highlighted the need for equal treatment of all public servants, stressing that it would foster fairness, raise morale, and improve overall efficiency within the public sector.
