Nollywood stars set to shine in ‘The Gods Have Spoken’ opera at Terra Kulture, October 18–19

Nollywood actors Lateef Adedimeji and Femi Branch headline ‘The Gods Have Spoken’ opera at Terra Kulture, Lagos, running October 18–19. Don’t miss this rare stage performance.

An ensemble of Nollywood actors is set to bring a fresh dimension to the stage as Terra Kulture in Lagos prepares to host the opera The Gods Have Spoken on October 18 and 19, featuring Lateef Adedimeji, Femi Branch, Omowunmi Dada, Lizzy Jay, and Tunji Sotimirin among its cast.

The production, written by Taiye Adeola and directed by Muyideen “Lala” Oladapo, was unveiled in Lagos, where the director described it as a striking departure from traditional theatre, with every line performed through music in operatic style to mirror society’s struggles and offer hope to the ordinary man in pursuit of destiny.

He highlighted the magnitude of the work, pointing to a 40-page script supported by more than 140 pages of music and an ensemble of over 80 cast and crew members. Music director Adeaga Mofopefoluwa reinforced the uniqueness of the performance, assuring audiences of an orchestrated experience unlike anything they have witnessed on the Nigerian stage.

Veteran actor Tunji Sotimirin further emphasized that the opera, though compact in script, carries a powerful message that celebrates the voice of the common man and aims to strengthen and equip audiences.

With its strong lineup of respected film stars stepping into the demanding world of opera, The Gods Have Spoken is already generating anticipation ahead of its two-day run at Terra Kulture.
