NSA Sends Lifesaving Relief to Flood Victims in Yola

NSA Nuhu Ribadu delivers vital aid to 500 families hit by Yola floods, providing food, clothing and essentials to ease suffering and support recovery.

The National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has extended another round of relief to victims of the devastating July 27 flood in Yola, Adamawa State. A total of 500 affected households received food items and essential supplies in what marks the second phase of the palliative distribution.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the disaster claimed 23 lives and left many others homeless, with communities suffering widespread damage.

Speaking during the distribution, Mallam Mustapha Ribadu, the Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa, explained that the initiative was aimed at easing the hardship faced by survivors. Each family received a bag of rice, a carton of spaghetti, noodles, a gallon of cooking oil, blankets, mats, brocade fabric, and children’s clothing.

He said a relief committee made up of party leaders and local stakeholders had visited affected communities in Yola South to assess the destruction and ensure that genuine victims were identified. The findings revealed a grim reality — several families lost everything, including their homes, livelihoods, and personal possessions.

Ribadu emphasized that no victim would be overlooked, including those unable to attend the public distribution due to age or health issues. Arrangements have been made for home deliveries in such cases.
