Obasanjo to Commission Modern Hospital and Roads in Zamfara June 17

Former President joins Governor Lawal to mark two years in office with key infrastructure launches

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo will visit Zamfara State on June 17 to commission the newly renovated Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital in Gusau, alongside other infrastructure projects. Governor Dauda Lawal’s spokesperson, Malam Suleiman Idris, confirmed this in a statement released on Monday.

The commissioning ceremony is part of events lined up to celebrate Lawal’s second year in office. According to Idris, the hospital now boasts modern equipment and upgraded facilities that meet global medical standards.

Obasanjo will also open major roads within the Government Reserved Area (GRA) of Gusau. These projects fall under the Urban Renewal initiative introduced by the Lawal administration.

Over the past two years, Lawal has launched and upgraded schools, hospitals, and other key projects across the state. His government has also provided vital logistics support to security agencies in the fight against banditry and kidnappings.
