The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has officially commissioned a 100-bed health facility in Gombe State, a project dedicated to advancing maternal and child healthcare. The new hospital, named the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Maternal and Child Specialist Hospital, was formally opened in a ceremony that drew praise from stakeholders in the health sector and highlighted the government’s commitment to improved medical services for women and children.

Speaking during the commissioning, Mrs. Tinubu underscored that healthcare remains a central pillar of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration. She noted that the opening of the hospital marked more than just the unveiling of a building, describing it as a symbol of hope and a commitment to reducing the rates of maternal and infant mortality in Nigeria. She emphasized that no mother should lose her life while giving birth and that every Nigerian child deserves a healthy beginning.

In a statement released by her media aide, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady reiterated that the facility would provide relief for families in Gombe and beyond by offering quality healthcare services. She further acknowledged the Office of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for spearheading the project and praised their ongoing contributions toward achieving healthcare-related targets across the country.
