A youth group in Ondo State has dismissed efforts by opposition politicians to form a coalition against President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections, calling it a waste of time. The Akoko Youth Intellectual Movement (AYIM), led by its coordinator Ayejuyo Temitayo, described the planned alliance as lacking both political influence and public support.
Speaking in Ikare-Akoko, Ayejuyo said the politicians behind the coalition lacked the grassroots connection needed to make any real impact. According to him, Nigerians can see through empty political noise and still believe in Tinubu’s leadership. He credited the President with introducing key reforms aimed at reviving the economy, improving security, and creating jobs.
The group also voiced strong support for Senator Jide Ipinsagba of Ondo North, urging him to seek re-election. They praised his efforts in healthcare, education, agriculture, and disaster relief. Over 6,000 residents have benefited from his free medical outreach programs, while 1,000 students received bursaries. He also supported local farmers with fertilizer and delivered aid to communities affected by storms.
According to AYIM, Ipinsagba’s service has been marked by results and community focus. They pointed to his leadership as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Procurement as proof of his commitment to transparency in national projects. The group described his role in establishing the University of Information Technology in Ikare-Akoko as a milestone achievement that will benefit the region for years to come.
