PDP Governors Hold Crucial Talks in Ibadan Amid Fubara’s Notable Absence

With a gathering of top PDP governors underway in Ibadan to address urgent national concerns, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara's absence by April 15 raises questions.

A gathering of governors under the People’s Democratic Party took place at the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s Office in Agodi Secretariat, Ibadan. The meeting drew significant attention as it brought together key political figures to address critical national issues.

Among those who showed up for the high-stakes discussion were Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, Enugu’s Peter Mbah, and Taraba’s Agbu Kefas. They were joined by Zamfara’s Dauda Lawal, Plateau’s Caleb Mutfwang, Adamawa’s Umaru Fintiri, Osun’s Ademola Adeleke, and Bayelsa’s Douye Diri. Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde played host to his colleagues in what many have described as a strategic and timely assembly.

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Akwa Ibom’s Umo Eno were represented by their deputies, signaling their involvement despite not being physically present. However, the absence of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara stood out, sparking curiosity and speculation about his reasons for missing such a critical political convergence. As the meeting continues behind closed doors, attention remains fixed on its potential impact and the messages sent by those in the room—and those who chose not to be.
