Governor Caleb Mutfwang has restated his administration’s commitment to making Plateau one of Nigeria’s most attractive states for doing business. Speaking at a statewide town hall meeting and technical session held on Tuesday in Jos, the governor, represented by Secretary to the State Government Samuel Jatau, assured participants of continued support for reforms that create a better business climate.
The event was part of the national Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER) program, under the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), which was created in 2016 to make Nigeria a more business-friendly country.
Governor Mutfwang said his government has made the ease of doing business a priority. He highlighted progress made so far, noting that Plateau had climbed from 14th to 10th place in the national business rankings and expressed hope for even better results in the next update. He said these reforms were already drawing new investors to the state and promised that more would be done to maintain the upward trend.
He called on local entrepreneurs and investors to work hand-in-hand with the state to build a stronger economy. Mutfwang also thanked the residents of Plateau for their continued support and prayers.
PEBEC Director-General Zahrah Audu, who also spoke at the event, said the nationwide SABER tour is designed to strengthen state-level commitment to reform. She noted that the council is working to adapt federal business policies to suit individual states, ensuring that each one benefits directly. According to her, the sessions serve to review progress on reform and encourage collaboration among the government, the private sector, and development partners. PEBEC’s efforts, she added, are supported by the World Bank and focused on boosting economic growth nationwide.
