Queen of Denmark Visits Tinubu at Aso Villa, Strengthens Nigeria-Denmark Ties

President Tinubu hosts Queen Mary Elizabeth of Denmark in Abuja, as both leaders discuss stronger partnerships between Nigeria and the Danish kingdom.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu welcomed Queen Mary Elizabeth of Denmark at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday, June 24. The Danish monarch was on a courtesy visit and was received at the president’s official residence by Tinubu and First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

The Chief of Staff, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar; and Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu, were also present at the reception. The Queen was accompanied by the Danish Ambassador to Nigeria, Jens Ole Bach Hansen.

President Tinubu shared the moment on his official X account, describing the visit as a privilege. He noted that the meeting was friendly, focused on cooperation, and built on respect and long-standing diplomatic ties. He said the Queen’s presence signified goodwill and a mutual commitment to advancing shared values.

He added that the Nigerian government remains focused on partnerships that create opportunities, improve lives, and support sustainable development for future generations.
