It Takes Two To Tango

When you see a successful relationship/marriage, it doesn't happen by accident. Two people actually decided to make it to work. They were intentional about it.

There is no magic, someone understand that been submissive is not a weakness. 
Someone there understand that saying sorry doesn't make him a lesser man. Both of them understand that it is their collective responsibilities to work on their relationship.
They understand that both of them are not perfect, thus they learnt to tolerate each other.
They know that they are married and as such should remain married.
They understand that it takes two to tango.

The sad part of it is that our parents have succeeded in grooming the girl child into becoming a good wife and mother tomorrow, but fail to groom the male child into becoming a good husband and father too.

For your relationship to succeed, both of you must make up your minds to make it to work.
