Ruggedman Eyes Nollywood Stardom, Hints at Producing His Own Movie

Rapper Ruggedman reveals plans to pursue more acting roles in Nollywood and teases his debut as a movie producer with a script already in hand.

Popular Nigerian rapper Ruggedman has announced his growing interest in Nollywood and expressed plans to take on more acting roles. Speaking in an interview with Pot-Pourri, the entertainer said his love for movies inspired him to explore acting whenever the chance came.

He first appeared in Jim Iyke’s film Bad Comments, then played a police officer in Toyin Abraham’s Ghost and the Tout Too. His most recent role was in Nora Awolowo’s Red Circle, where he portrayed a character named Superglue.

Ruggedman shared that acting has taught him many lessons, especially about how actions have consequences, regardless of a person’s social status. Reflecting on the Red Circle experience, he admitted feeling nervous at first because of the star-studded cast.

He said that acting alongside Bukky Wright, Femi Branch, and Lateef Adedimeji was a big deal for him, but their support gave him the confidence he needed. He praised Rixel Studios for creating a smooth and professional experience.

Looking ahead, Ruggedman plans to keep building his acting career and has even written a script for his own movie. He confirmed that he’s open to more roles and excited about creating stories of his own, saying he’s ready to work as long as the production is of high quality.
