Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has openly supported President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 elections. This endorsement came as Tinubu marked the midpoint of his administration during his visit to Lagos for official events and the Sallah holiday. Sanwo-Olu praised Tinubu’s leadership, highlighting the positive changes that have occurred under his administration despite the economic challenges.
At the 2025 Workers’ Day celebration in Lagos, held at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Sanwo-Olu joined thousands of workers to emphasize the government’s commitment to improving worker welfare. He noted Lagos offers some of the best remuneration packages in the country and assured that salaries and pensions continue to be paid on time. The governor encouraged workers to remain patient with the federal reforms, stating these efforts under Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda are beginning to show results, particularly in agriculture, which has helped lower food prices.
Sanwo-Olu described Tinubu as a compassionate leader dedicated to the interests of workers and urged Nigerians to unite in building a nation where every effort is rewarded. Through his official social media channels, Sanwo-Olu congratulated Tinubu on two years in office, calling him a true democrat and nationalist who has made bold reforms for national development. He pledged full support for Tinubu’s vision and expressed hope for an even more impactful second term.
