Security Forces Launch Operation to Rescue Kidnap Victim in Abuja

Police, Army, and other security agencies in Abuja initiate an operation to rescue a kidnapped victim after armed attackers flee with one.

The Police Command in Abuja, alongside the Nigerian Army and other security agencies, has launched a full-scale operation to rescue a kidnapping victim in the city. The effort came after armed assailants kidnapped two individuals from Grow Homes Estate in the Byazhin area early on Monday.

At around 1:00 AM, police officers stationed near the estate reported an attack by armed individuals who breached the estate’s perimeter. A brief gunfight ensued, allowing the police to rescue one of the victims, identified as Chinyere Joe, but the attackers escaped with the other victim. The police, with support from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit and the Army, are actively pursuing the suspects to ensure the safe return of the remaining abducted individual.

Authorities are urging residents of the Federal Capital Territory to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately to the police via designated emergency numbers.
