A 26-year-old man, Abdulrasheed Ibrahim, has been arrested once again for burglary after he was caught with stolen aluminium and electrical wires near the fence of the Living Faith Tabernacle, also known as Winners Chapel, in Ogun State.
Officials from the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, also known as So-Safe Corps, confirmed the arrest. During a routine patrol, the suspect was picked up around 2:00 am by operatives from the Iyesi Area Command. When stopped, Ibrahim claimed he was a scavenger, but officers found the stolen materials in his possession.
According to a statement from the Corps Commander, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, Ibrahim failed to explain how he got the items and could not prove ownership. During questioning, he admitted to breaking into a house located behind the church fence and confessed to carrying out similar crimes in the past.
This marks the fifth time Ibrahim has been arrested for theft-related offenses.
He has been handed over to the Onipanu Police Divisional Headquarters, and items have been recovered for further investigation and possible prosecution.
