Sevilla’s players had no choice but to remain at the club’s training facility overnight due to violent protests from angry fans following their 3-2 loss to Celta Vigo on Saturday. Around 100 irate supporters gathered at the site, with some attempting to force their way into the facility. As the team’s bus returned, it was bombarded with projectiles, and players were met with verbal abuse from the crowd. Sevilla condemned the violent actions in response, announcing they would report the incident to the authorities.
The club clarified that such actions, which targeted players, staff, and management, were unacceptable. The unfortunate events left the Sevilla team stranded at their training complex for the night. The loss to Celta Vigo left Sevilla in 16th place, with just six points clear of relegation and only three matches left. Sevilla is set to face Las Palmas on Tuesday in a crucial game as they fight to avoid relegation.
