Skydiving Plane Crashes in Tennessee with 20 On Board

A skydiving aircraft with 20 passengers crashed in Tennessee shortly after takeoff. Several were injured and rushed to hospital. FAA investigating the cause.

A small aircraft carrying 20 people crashed on Sunday afternoon in Coffee County, Tennessee, shortly after taking off from Tullahoma Regional Airport. The plane, identified as a de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter, went down near Old Shelbyville Road at around 12:45 p.m. local time.

State troopers and local police quickly responded to the crash site. Some of the passengers were injured and airlifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. The total number of injuries and their severity have not been confirmed.

Images shared online show the plane badly damaged, with its nose planted in the grass and the tail section detached. According to local reports, the aircraft was being used for skydiving purposes at the time of the incident.

Federal officials have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash. The FAA confirmed the number of people on board and stated that the inquiry is ongoing.
