Dr. Pat Ifeanyi Oramah, Chairman of Oramah Football Club and Academy in Abuja, has praised Nigeria’s Super Falcons for their remarkable triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Rabat, Morocco. Following their thrilling 3-2 comeback victory against the host nation in Saturday’s final, Dr. Oramah confirmed he will fulfill his earlier pledge of N1.5 million — N500,000 for each goal scored in the match.
He described the Falcons’ performance as a powerful display of resilience and national pride, celebrating their record-extending 10th continental title. He said the team’s ability to recover from a 2-0 deficit to secure the win reflected the determination and spirit of Nigerians.
Dr. Oramah also commended team captain Rasheedat Ajibade and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie for being named Player of the Tournament and Best Goalkeeper, respectively. He applauded the entire squad for their collective effort that brought individual recognition to the standout players.
Special recognition was given to Coach Justin Madugu, who was crowned Best Coach of the Tournament. Dr. Oramah noted that Madugu’s achievement is a strong endorsement of the capabilities of local coaches and a reason to entrust them with more responsibilities in national teams.
He explained that the motivation behind his cash pledge was the team’s talent and passion, adding that Oramah Football Club & Academy was founded to discover and develop young footballers who can achieve international glory for Nigeria.
