Tinubu Returns After Two Weeks in Europe, Presidency Confirms

President Tinubu returns to Nigeria after two weeks in Europe, as the Presidency assures his leadership remained active throughout the trip.

President Bola Tinubu is expected back in Nigeria today following a two-week official visit to Europe. This was confirmed by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, through a post on his verified X account stating the president’s return was scheduled for today.

President Tinubu departed Nigeria on April 2 for Paris before heading to London. Throughout his stay abroad, he remained actively involved in national governance. According to the Presidency, he maintained regular communication with key government officials and continued giving instructions on critical issues, especially in the area of national security.

Officials noted that his trip was planned and within the timeframe previously shared with the public. They also emphasized that the president’s absence did not affect the daily operations of the government. While abroad, Tinubu reportedly reviewed progress on several reform initiatives and discussed strategic plans for the remainder of his term, especially as his second anniversary in office approaches.

The Presidency also responded to rising concerns over insecurity in some parts of the country and calls for his return. It reiterated that governance remained uninterrupted, with all arms of government functioning under Tinubu’s directive. His return coincides with the end of the Easter holiday.
