Tottenham Unveil Kudus, Close in on Gibbs-White in £115 Million Double Transfer Move

Tottenham land Kudus from West Ham and activate Gibbs-White’s release clause as new boss Thomas Frank kicks off his reign with high-profile signings.

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United and are on the verge of securing Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest, in a bold double swoop worth over £115 million.

Kudus, who cost Spurs around £55 million, becomes the first player in over a decade to move directly from the Hammers to their London rivals. Gibbs-White is expected to follow shortly, with Tottenham triggering a £60 million release clause in his Forest contract.

These moves signal a strong statement of intent under new manager Thomas Frank, who took charge of Tottenham last month following the surprise departure of Ange Postecoglou. Despite leading Spurs to a historic Europa League win — their first trophy in 17 years — the Australian stepped down after the season ended.

Tottenham’s triumph over Manchester United in the final also secured them direct qualification to the UEFA Champions League, a factor that proved crucial in attracting top-tier talent like Kudus. Speaking to the club’s media team, the Ghana international expressed his excitement about the new chapter in his career.

“I’ve always wanted to play at the highest level. This is a big moment for me — Champions League football, the size of the club, and the opportunity to grow under a manager like Thomas Frank,” Kudus said. “His track record with young talent really influenced my decision.”

Kudus, who joined West Ham from Ajax for £38 million, scored 19 goals in 80 appearances across two seasons. His creativity and energy are expected to bolster Tottenham’s midfield and attacking options.

Gibbs-White, a standout performer for Forest last season, contributed seven goals and ten assists in 34 Premier League games. His performances earned him senior call-ups to the England squad under both Lee Carsley and Thomas Tuchel. Forest had initially signed him from Wolves in 2022 for £25 million, a fee that could rise to £42.5 million with performance-related clauses.

His anticipated exit comes shortly after Forest agreed to sell winger Anthony Elanga to Newcastle United for £55 million, marking another significant change for the club.

With Kudus secured and Gibbs-White almost over the line, Tottenham are signaling a new era under Frank — one driven by ambition, talent development, and a return to Europe’s biggest stage.
