olice have now disclosed the identity of the individual responsible for the death of Tamilore Odunsi, a British-Nigerian nursing student, who was brutally stabbed just days before her graduation in Texas. Chester Lamar Grant, the 40-year-old man who had been living with Odunsi as a roommate, has been identified as the suspected killer. Authorities claim the fatal altercation occurred following a dispute between the two over their pet cats.
On April 26, Houston police conducted a welfare check at the apartment shared by Odunsi and Grant. They entered the unit after noticing blood on the rear patio, and upon entering, they discovered the 23-year-old nursing student with multiple stab wounds. Grant was found with at least one stab wound, but Odunsi was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation revealed that the roommates, who had been living together for only two months, had a violent confrontation over their cats just days before the attack. Following the stabbing, Grant allegedly attempted to take his own life, inflicting multiple stab wounds on himself, including one to his neck. He was hospitalized in critical condition.
On May 3, after recovering, Grant was arrested and charged with murder. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 5.
