A Nigerian mother, Abdulazeez Hope Maryam, shared a heart-wrenching account on May 14, 2025, detailing how her 2-month-old daughter died in a Kano hospital after waiting for over two hours with no doctor available. In her emotional Facebook post, Maryam explained that she rushed her baby to the emergency department of Nassarawa Hospital, only to find no medical personnel on hand to attend to her child’s urgent needs. Despite waiting in desperation, the absence of doctors meant that by the time she was able to transfer her baby to another hospital, it was too late.
Maryam expressed her sorrow, saying that she had never truly understood the phrase “may Nigeria never happen to you” until that tragic moment.
