Troops from the 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, under the 35 Artillery Brigade, arrested a man suspected of trafficking human parts in Kulanla Odomoola, Ogun State. The suspect was saved from a mob that had gathered to lynch him before soldiers arrived and intervened. After the arrest, the suspect and the items recovered from him were handed over to the Nigerian Police at the Noforija Division for further investigation and possible prosecution.
In another operation on patrol around Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, troops arrested three men suspected of dealing drugs. They were caught with two packs of a substance believed to be Indian hemp, hidden under a 60-kilogram cargo load inside a white J5 vehicle. The suspects and the seized materials were immediately handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ilaro Area Command, for further investigation and prosecution.
Lieutenant Colonel Olabisi Olalekan Ayeni, Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, confirmed the arrests in a statement. He stressed the 81 Division’s commitment to protecting law-abiding citizens and promised that the army would keep using every lawful method to combat criminal activity. The army also encouraged the public to continue sharing timely and credible information to support efforts in fighting crime and improving security across the region.
