Two Dead and Over 500 Arrested After Champions League Final Celebrations in France

Two people died and 559 were arrested after Paris Saint Germain’s Champions League win sparked celebrations and unrest across France.

Two people lost their lives and 559 others were arrested following celebrations in France after Paris Saint-Germain’s victory over Inter Milan in the Champions League final. The French interior ministry reported that a 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death in the southwestern town of Dax during the festivities. Additionally, a woman riding a scooter died after being struck by a car in the southwest area of Paris. Most arrests, totaling 491, occurred in Paris, where large crowds had gathered to celebrate the win. Authorities acted to control the unrest that followed the match.
