Two men have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping and murder of a female bank manager in Onitsha, Anambra State. The suspects, identified as 32-year-old Monday Egbe and 28-year-old Kenneth Nnoga, were tracked to a hideout in a neighbouring state by officers of the Anambra State Police Command.
According to the police, the suspects were part of a gang that abducted the victim, Ifeoma, earlier this year. Despite collecting a ransom of ₦14 million from her family, the gang went on to kill her. Her body was discovered on January 13, 2025, along Nnobi Road, with her eyes tied.
The suspects are currently being questioned to help uncover how the gang operates and to aid in the arrest of other members.
Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, assured the public that the police will continue working to protect lives and property. He also emphasized that every effort will be made to bring everyone involved in the crime to justice.
