The victims killed during a brutal mob attack while travelling for a wedding in Plateau State have been buried under heavy security. The group, made up of men, women, and children from Basawa-Anguwan Rimi in Kaduna State, was heading to Quaan Pan Local Government Area when their vehicle was ambushed in the Mangun area of Mangu LGA. Several passengers were killed on the spot, and some of the bodies were set on fire by the attackers.
Survivors from the tragic incident are currently receiving treatment at a medical facility. To prevent unrest in their home communities, relatives of the deceased agreed to have the bodies buried in Plateau. The funeral took place at Hayi Muslim Cemetery, where religious leaders led prayers and encouraged the public to remain peaceful.
Clerics urged the Muslim community to view the incident as a test of faith and not seek revenge. The somber burial drew emotional reactions as mourners paid their last respects to the victims whose journey for joy ended in tragedy.
